Prof. Miodownik is an associate professor in the departments of political science and international relations, the director of the Leonard Davis Institute for International Relations, and a research fellow at the Harry S. Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His research examines the emergence, unfolding and regulation of anti-regime mobilization, protest behavior, ethnic polarization, and civil wars with particular interest in ethnically divided societies (e.g. Israel/Palestine) and contested cities (e.g. Jerusalem). Methodologically his research combines work in computational modeling, statistical analysis, and geographic information systems. He teaches graduate and undergraduate classes on ethnic mobilization, civil wars, and interstate conflicts: violence and regulation, introduction to political science, honors workshop, social movements, and research methods.
